Fitness Class Cancellation Policy:  If Shelby Co. schools are cancelled due to snow/ice, all a.m. fitness classes, including water aerobics and a.m. nursery will be cancelled. A decision on p.m. fitness classes and nursery will be made by noon.  Please check here for all cancellations. All major holidays fitness classes will be postponed as well, enjoy your holiday!

Family Activity Center (FAC) Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation

Monday – Friday 8 am-6 pm

Saturday 8 am-3 pm

Sunday Closed


· All visitors must wear a face mask upon entering the facility.  Once in the workout area you may remove face mask to exercise.  When exiting the facility, you must wear a face mask.

· All visitors must use hand sanitizer upon entering the facility.

· All visitors must have their temperature taken upon entering the facility.

· Please make sure to social distance at least 6 feet during your visit while in the facility.

· All visitors will enter through the FAC front doors and will exit through the door down the hallway from the indoor pool entrance.

· Do not enter the building before your scheduled time.

· Only FAC participants may stay in the building.  No guest or children waiting while working out.

· All FAC participants must be 14 years old or older.


· All memberships will remain on hold until the FAC can operate with more participants and/or amenities.

· The parks department does not feel it is fair to resume any type of membership billing and/or usage of time with the restricted & limited use policies implemented at this time.

· There will be a $5 fee per scheduled time for weight room, cardio area, fitness class or lap swimming.  A $1.50 fee for walking/running track scheduled time.

· Silver Sneaker Cards will be accepted.

· There will be no refunds on any daily visits.

Scheduling Workout Visits (you may begin scheduling appointments on June 11th)

· To schedule a 1-hour time slot (45 minutes to workout & 15 minutes to sanitize and to exit) to come workout, you must call the Park Office at 502-633-5059.  You will need to schedule for fitness equipment, pool laps & fitness classes.

· A limit of 3 prescheduled visits per week per participant.  Upon making the prescheduled visits, you will need to prepay for each visit.  You may schedule for up to 2 weeks at a time.

· If you have scheduled your 3 visits per week and would like to schedule another workout you may call the day of to see if there are any openings.  We will allow if there are openings for that day only.

Outdoor Pool
– First come first serve to first 50 guests
– $5 per person for admission
– Monday – Saturday 11a-5p, Sunday 12p-5p. Beginning Monday, August 24th – the outdoor pool will only operate on Saturday & Sundays at the above posted times.

Closed Amenities

· No Nursery will be offered

· Basketball Gym will be closed

· Sauna will be closed

· Locker Rooms will be closed

· No sweat towels

· No water fountains

· No food or drink vending

· No coffee

· No tables and chairs for waiting

· Only restrooms open will be the ones across from the Front Desk

Weight Room

· There is a limit of 5 participants

· All participants shall remain a social distance of at least 6 feet from each other and shall keep at least a machine empty between

· There will be no sweat towels

· All participants are responsible to clean off each machine and/or each free weight equipment after each use using the supplied cleaning wipes

Cardio Machine Area

· There is a limit of 5 participants

· All participants shall remain a social distance of at least 6 feet from each other and shall keep at least a machine empty between

· There will be no sweat towels

Walking Track

· There is a limit of 6 participants

· All participants shall remain a social distance of at least 6 feet from each other

Fitness Classes

· A total of 10 or less participants per class

· Hand weights and exercise balls will be the only equipment provided.  You must provide your own mats and bands

· All participants are responsible to clean off the equipment they use with the cleaning wipes provided

· Available Classes:

· Strength Works – Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 8:15am & 9:45am – Aerobic Room

· Cardio Drumming – Tuesday & Thursday – 9:30am & 5pm – Aerobic Room

· Hatha Yoga – Monday & Wednesday – 5pm, Tuesday & Thursday – 8am & Saturday – 9am – Aerobic Room

· Water Aerobics – Monday thru Friday – 10am & 11am, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday – 4pm &  Saturday – 10am – Indoor Pool

Swimming Pool (Lap Lanes & water aerobics ONLY available at this time)

· Limit of one swimmer per lane.

· Swimmers and Class participants should be prepared to arrive and depart in their suits

· Swimmers and Class participants will not be permitted to store their equipment bags at the facility

· Swimmers and Class participants will only place their personal items on the designated chairs at each lap lane

· Locker room usage/water fountains are not available

· Swimmers and Class participants must maintain proper social distancing at all times

Skate Park Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am – 8pm

Skate Park Guidelines:

· Social distancing should be maintained at all times

· Do not share equipment with other participants

· Wash & sanitize hands before & after leaving the park


C3 Camps Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm

Cost: $130 per week

Camp Guidelines:

· Accepting 40 campers on a first come first serve basis, must pay for all weeks desired up front, no drop ins, no exception

· Registration will be online only and will be available beginning June 4th. Registration information will be mass emailed to all park subscribers as well as posted on the Shelbyville/Shelby County Parks & Recreation Facebook page

· Campers will be signed in by a single staff member at the guardians car outside the camp door.  Temperature checks will be done daily, campers will be returned to guardian a pickup time

· Campers will be in groups of 10 that will not intermingle with other groups in the camp

· Please inform your camper of the importance of safe boundaries and appropriate behavior during this time

· All past due balances must be paid in full for registration to be accepted


Clear Creek Golf Course Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am to 8pm (walking only)

Beginning Wednesday, June 3rd, Clear Creek will have golf carts and on-course restroom available on Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays from 9am to 3pm under the following conditions:

· Carts are limited to 1 rider per cart, unless you live in same household

· Staff will clean & sanitize cart after each round with bleach solution. 15 minute turn wait for cart

· All belongings must be removed from cart upon completion of round

· Carts are first come, first serve

· Carts must be returned by 3pm daily

· New cart rule – Cart Path ONLY on all par 3’s, 90 degrees otherwise, with return to path at yellow posts

· Restroom will be sanitized at 11am, 1pm, & 3pm with hand sanitizer available at restroom

· Registration will remain on front porch at this time. Other restrictions may be noted at registration

· Driving range & Sunday carts will be re-evaluated with expectation to be available Mid to late June


Effective May 1st – Golf course is open daily 8am-8pm for walking.  Please use honor box & sign in sheet located on front porch.

· Noodles in hole to avoid contact

· Max 4 per group while maintaining social distancing guidelines of 6ft apart

Finchville Park Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am – 8pm

Park Guidelines:

· Social distancing should be maintained at all times

· Rec Field & Pavilion will remained closed


Lake Shelby Campground Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am– 8pm

Campground Guidelines:

· ALL reservations must be made in advance on

· Maintain social distance from other campers, fisherman, hikers/walkers, etc

· Please wash & sanitize hands

· Dispose of all garbage at dumpster near RV parking lot

· Pavilions/structures remain closed


Effective May 4th – Lake Shelby reopened for boat launches (payment at honor box), fishing & hiking

Red Orchard Park Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am – 8pm

Red Orchard Guidelines:

· Hiking, horse arena, disc golf & Michael Kay’s Bark Park (permit required, no new permits being issued at this time) have all REOPENED

· Maintain social distancing at all times

Clear Creek Park Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am – 8pm
Clear Creek Guidelines:

· Maintain social distance at all times

· Baseball will resume practices June 15th with games beginning in July – more information to come

· Soccer has been postponed, more information to come as Governor restrictions are lifted

· Pavilions, Outdoor Basketball Courts and Soccer Fields will remain closed

Tennis Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am– 8pm

Tennis Guidelines (per USTA):

· Maintain social distance from other players, coordinate with your partner on doubles

· Between points, use your racquet & foot to pick up balls & hit to your opponent

· Wash & sanitize your hands before & after play

· Clean and wipe down your equipment after play

· Avoid touching your face after handling equipment

Youth Tennis Clinics:

· Sign up by June 13 by visiting

· Clinics will begin June 15.  There will be two three week sessions.

Shelby Trails Park Reopening Guidelines

Hours of Operation: Daily 8am – 8pm

Shelby Trails Park Guidelines:

Red Fern Riding Center’s staff will strictly monitor trail riders, hikers, lesson students and guided ride customers and ensure that all users of the park are strictly adhering to social distancing policies.
Policies that will be monitored and adhered to are as follows:

· The park will limit the total number of hikers/trail riders 10 at one time. Hikers and riders can call or text Red Fern Riding Center to ensure there is space

· The check-in and pass payment kiosk will be moved to the top of the parking lot away from the barn and facility

· Year passes will be sold online. Proof of coggins can be emailed or texted directly to Red Fern Riding Center

· Year pass holders can sign in online or at the kiosk

· Additional park information (rules, maps, phone, website) will be clearly posted to answer any trail rider or hiker questions

· The parking lot will be divided in half. The upper half for trailers, trail riders and hikers and the lower half for the riding center – ensuring separation between groups of users


· No more than 10 persons, total, will be allowed in the facility at one time

· All members of the general public will have temperatures taken before entering the facility

· All persons entering the facility must wear gloves while at the barn; either riding or plastic/latex

· Masks will be required to be worn in any environment when a six foot distance is not possible: tacking horses up, while checking temperatures, helping customers mount etc.

· Antibacterial soap and bleach wipes will be made available for wiping down common surfaces

· Guided Ride Groups will be limited to 5 people max and two staff members

· Lessons will be limited to 2 students max and 1 instructor. Lessons will be taught outside whenever possible
