This outdoor, steel park, which was built over the old city swimming pool, has over 10,000 sq. ft. of skating surface.  The street oriented layout incorporates an old 3 ft. concrete ledge with a euro gap, fun box, quarter pipe picnic tables, rails, and a highway barrier in a smooth flowing design.
A 4 ft. half pipe challenges the vert skaters.

More Information about Skate Park

A group of middle and high school skaters, The Shelby County Skate Park Advocates, formed in December 2006 and spent their winter break developing their strategy to make a Shelby County Skate Park a reality.  In early 2007, they successfully lobbied the Parks Board and City and County elected officials for permission to create a park. Over the next 12 months the young men secured the site, created a design and raised over $90,000 for the park.  The Park opened in May 2008. Key contributors included: Citizens Union Bank, The Tony Hawk Foundation, Alcan Packaging, Wal-Mart, Hardee’s, The Moses Ruben Fund, and the State Land and Water Conservation Grant Program.
