This historic home has been renovated and is available for your group’s meeting needs. Meeting rooms have hardwood floors, and there are restrooms inside. The home is situated just across the parking lot from the Clear Creek Family Activity Center which has an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, indoor track, and fitness area. Also, just down the park street is the Clear Creek Golf Center, a 9-hole executive course. And last, but not least, it is situated in beautiful Clear Creek Park.
A large part of the park land was donated by Dr. A.L. Birch, a local veterinarian, who’s family farm once was Clear Creek Park. His generous donation started everything that we have today as the park system has grown to over 900 acres with 12 parks spread throughout the county. The Birch House is used for meeting space, office space, family reunions, wedding/baby showers, boy scouts, girl scouts and more and is home to the Shelby County Parks Foundation, an organization whose mission is to financially support the park system as a whole. Other parts of Clear Creek Park was acquired through a grant process and combined with Dr. Birch’s donation created the 130 acres of the park.
