Fitness Class Cancellation Policy:  If Shelby Co. schools are cancelled due to snow/ice, all a.m. fitness classes, including water aerobics and a.m. nursery will be cancelled. A decision on p.m. fitness classes and nursery will be made by noon.  Please check here for all cancellations. All major holidays fitness classes will be postponed as well, enjoy your holiday!

ON FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2020 – County Judge Executive Dan Ison, CLOSED all parks/amenities/activities UNTIL FURTHER notice due to COVID19.  Please use this time to stay home with your families and be healthy. – UPDATE see below.

As of May 8th (Phase I & II):

Clear Creek Park will reopen at gate 1 – all parking will be in the Golf Course parking lot
– All pavilions, playgrounds, ballfields, restrooms and FAC parking lot will remain CLOSED at this time
– Access to gate 2 (soccer fields) & 3 (softball fields) will remained closed
Golf Course will reopen with the following parameters:
  • – Cash only at honor box on Pro Shop porch
  • – No carts
  • – No staff
  • – Noodles in holes to avoid contact
  • – Max 4 per group maintaining social distancing guidelines of 6ft apart
  • – No driving range

Lake Shelby will reopen for fishing & walking – all parking will be in RV parking lot

  • Boats may be launched – please pay honor box (cash or check

Red Orchard Park will reopen for hiking, horse arena, disc golf

  • Playgrounds, playpods, outdoor fitness equipment, restrooms & dog park will remain closed

Shelby Trails Park will totally reopen with the following guidelines:
Red Fern Riding Center’s staff will strictly monitor trail riders, hikers, lesson students and guided ride customers and ensure that all users of the park are strictly adhering to social distancing policies. Policies that will be monitored and adhered to are as follows:
The park will limit the total number of hikers/trail riders 10 at one time. Hikers and riders can call or text Red Fern Riding Center to ensure there is space.
The check-in and pass payment kiosk will be moved to the top of the parking lot away from the barn and facility.
Year passes will be sold online. Proof of coggins can be emailed or texted directly to Red Fern Riding Center. Year pass holders can sign in online or at the kiosk.
Additional park information (rules, maps, phone, website) will be clearly posted to answer any trail rider or hiker questions.
The parking lot will be divided in half. The upper half for trailers, trail riders and hikers and the lower half for the riding center – ensuring separation between groups of users

No more than 10 persons, total, will be allowed in the facility at one time.
All members of the general public will have temperatures taken before entering the facility.
All persons entering the facility must wear gloves while at the barn; either riding or plastic/latex.
Masks will be required to be worn in any environment when a six foot distance is not possible: tacking horses up, while checking temperatures, helping customers mount etc.
Antibacterial soap and bleach wipes will be made available for wiping down common surfaces.
Guided Ride Groups will be limited to 5 people max and two staff members.
Lessons will be limited to 2 students max and 1 instructor. Lessons will be taught outside whenever possible.


Finchville Park, Skate Park & all other mini parks will remain CLOSED at this time
